MY STORY

A Licensed Professional Here to Guide You

My own experiences with grief, loss, and major life transitions led me to a journey of self-discovery that was made richer and more meaningful through the therapeutic process. Those times of deep introspection and self-reflection revealed my life's passion - I wanted to walk with others as they navigate life's difficulties and offer opportunities to unearth the deeper sense of self that can be found in a compassionate therapeutic journey.

In the time since I've had the honor of working with a wide array of communities impacted by grief and trauma including those affected by Hurricane Harvey and other natural disasters, survivors of sexual assault and abuse, and first responders and healthcare providers at risk for secondary trauma and burnout. In 2023, I traveled to Uvalde to support survivors of the tragic 2022 school shooting.

Understanding the profound impact of addiction, I chose an internship with the Council on Recovery's Center for Recovering Families. During that time I worked with families and friends of those impacted by addiction and helped develop programs and workshops for loved ones. Later, I returned to the Council, to work with The Center for Co-Occurring Disorders. During that time I supported the efforts of the Felony Mental Health Court to reduce recidivism by offering mental health support and psychoeducation to an underserved community.

I have worked closely with the Center for Mind Body Medicine, where I became a certified practitioner and supervisor, honing my mindfulness skills and developing a greater understanding of somatics and body-based trauma healing. I spent several years leading groups and facilitating trainings with Houston Healing Circles, where I experienced the power of group work, intentional active listening, and the healing qualities of sharing your story. I am also a passionate member of The Jung Center, where I've served as faculty, a member of the Mind Body Spirit Institute Advisory Board, and, formerly, as a steering committee member for the Community for Conscious Aging.  Learn more about my therapy services here.
